In guppy.py the 'main' class has a 'set' and 'writeconfig' subroutines. If desired, the 'set' subroutine could be altered to write the config to file on each edit.

As is suggested in bug #296, it would be difficult to save channels the bot joins to its config in real-time:

"It'd be nice to have the bot store which chans joined in the config-file. Say if I do -join #foobar the bot stores this chan and rejoins it automatically after a restart/reconnect."

For bug #296 it was recommended to move to new config format -- from configparser system to pretty-print JSON, as In its current state, it would be hard to modify the bot's config while it is running.

If that change is made, a migration script would be needed so that old users' configs are not lost. And a version bump.

Before we proceed I would like to have an example of what is difficult to modify while the bot is running. Please provide the example in a comment.
