I have been having some trouble with line numbers in the most current
version of listings. I beat my head on it for a while and I found what
was causing my error (redefinition of the lst@SkipToFirst and
lst@MSkipToFirst; the fixed up versions of the macros were being
redefined away). I tried every file that I have (and all the test
cases I could think of) after removing the redefinitions and they all
seem to work. Knock on my hollow head.

I also found, while reading and deciphering the line number code, an
error in the line range handling code. Two of the conditions were
reversed (4 should be the range of line 4, 4- should be line 4 and
following; they were reversed).

Again, I played with my files (I have a book that makes extensive use
of the line numbering, especially non-sequential includes) and I
didn't see any problems.

Attached find a patch file; I took the liberty of commenting and
dating my changes.

Hope all is going well and let me know if there is anything else I can
do to help make this change happen.
