JOH provides Jabber over HTTP interface. As of version 1.0 it implements HTTP Polling gateway as per XEP-0025. Support for BOSH is planned for the future.

The address part of an IPv6 URL must be either an IPv6 address in numeric notation enclosed in square brackets or a host name, e.g.: inet6://[::1]:1100

JOH Version 1.2 is available for download. This version implements special handling for GET requests. Receiving a GET request usually means that someone has pointed his web browser to the URL served by johd or joh.cgi. Both programs can be configured to either return a 404 response with a configurable HTML content, or to redirect the request to another web server.
