A decimal number is any sequence of decimal digits, not beginning with ‘0’.
An octal number is ‘0’ followed by any number of octal
digits (‘0’ through ‘7’), for example: 0340

A hex number is ‘0x’ or ‘0X’ followed by any number
of hex digits (‘0’ through ‘9’ and ‘a’ through ‘f’
