`\\* ` should just act like `\\ ` apart from suppressing a page break, so I assume they should act identically in an html context. so as you say you could just use `\LT@t@bularcr` in both branches.

Hi David,

this seems to be caused by this definition in longtable.sty

The warning disappears when I remove `\def\crcr{\LT@crcr\noalign{\nobreak}}\let\cr\crcr` from the \@ifstar condition. Is this code useful for something in tex4ht context?

Use of `\\*` in longtable produces

`(\end occurred when \ifnum on line 8 was incomplete)`

warnings for each line end marked with a `*`, although the generated html looks reasonable I think.
